Anti-Tilt Piston Buffers

Note: The buffers on this page are designed to fit bolt carriers with a 5/8" nominal inside diameter. This includes the majority of all piston systems. Some ARES Defense, LMT, PWS, and a few other carriers have a 1/2" nominal inside diameter. Anti-Tilt Buffers for those systems are available here: 1/2" Anti-Tilt Buffers
PLEASE VERIFY BEFORE ORDERING.

This is the original Anti-Tilt buffer, designed to prevent excessive wear to the receiver extension (buffer tube) caused by bolt carrier tilt/cant in the popular piston-driven ARs. The elongated head of the buffer is centered in the bolt carrier by the 'nipple'. This setup prevents contact between the bolt carrier and the buffer tube.

Tested and proven with Adams Arms, Ares Defense, CMMG, HK, LMT, LWRC, Osprey Defense, POF, PWS, Rock River, Ruger, Sig, Stag Arms, and many others.

Please notify me via email after placing your order if you have an LMT or ARES Defense upper, their carriers are slightly different and require a custom buffer (same price). Newer PWS .223 systems also require this special buffer.

The buffer is constructed from 303 Stainless Steel for a lifetime of trouble-free performance. There are no moving parts to break, and no messy fluids/powders to leak out. A foolproof design for flawless operation of your weapon.

The head is polished to further reduce the possibility of buffer tube damage.

Please Note: I strongly recommend using Wolff XP Rifle buffer springs with these buffers. Some standard OEM and aftermarket springs from other manufacturers will cause malfunctions. 'Flat-Wire' springs are not recommended in any case.

Note: We cannot guarantee proper function with subsonic ammo. There are significant differences in specifications among the various brands of ammo and firearms manufacturers. Some guns will run great with almost any ammo, other guns may not function reliably with any subsonics. This is all beyond our control.

Takedown procedure with an Anti-Tilt buffer installed is as follows:
Push out both pins.
Slide the upper receiver forward slightly.
Lift it away from the lower receiver.
